Alex Song strongly believes Arsenal will prove their critics wrong tomorrow in the north London derby, after revealing a heart-to-heart with manager Arsene Wenger got the club’s season back on track.

The Gunners have endured their worst start to a season in 58 years, suffering 8-2 and 4-3 defeats at the hands of Manchester United and Blackburn respectively, before racking up 3 wins in 12 days.

Tomorrow the Gunners face a huge test at a resurgent Tottenham, who have also experienced their own shaky start. However, Spurs have managed to set things right to move just a point outside the Champions League places.

Song insists the Arsenal players are determined to prove Wenger’s faith after talking to the Frenchman about why the club had gone through such a disastrous start to the season, following a summer which saw Cesc Fabregas, Samir Nasri and Gael Clichy leave the club.

The robust midfielder said:

‘Everyone is trying to say things about us, but we trust each other, trust the manager and we want to prove them wrong,’

‘We tried to talk with the manager to get the right way [forward]. At the moment we are on the right way, and we showed that in the last two games [the victories over Bolton and Olympiacos].’

‘We will show everyone that we are ready for Sunday because we know how important it is for us. I hope we get some of our injured players back because if we have everyone fit we have the confidence to go there and get a good result. We have a good opportunity to show people that we can do something very good in the league this year on Sunday. That’s why I think we should go there and try to do something positive. It will not be easy to do it but we will do it. I think we have a good opportunity to prove people wrong and that’s what we will try to do.’

The players are the men on the battle field, if they can avoid silly mistakes, like it happened in the Blackburn game, I am confident they would be able to turn the tables in our favour.Santos should be given a starting role, so is AOC. What is happening to Park? Wenger snatched him under Lile’s nose to mar the relationship between the two clubs, only to let him be on the sidelines? Come again Wenger!
