Wenger rules out move for this man

|

Arsene Wenger has ruled out a move for Valencia’s Juan Mata, according to a number of sources.

With Cesc Fabregas set to join Barcelona and Samir Nasri looking highly likely to depart for Manchester City, Arsenal have been linked with a number of replacements for the duo – Mata being the most prominent one.

However, Wenger has recently rubbished reports, insisting that a move for the 23-year-old Spaniard will not develop any time soon.

The Frenchman stated:

‘We will not do [a deal for] Juan Mata. I don’t have to give a reason, we will not do it.’

Wenger has either lost the plot, or lost the plot!

I don’t understand why he would rule out a move for the talented Spaniard, especially when Nasri and Fabregas are likely to be gone by Monday.

If he really has chalked Mata off his drawing board, then surely he has another name in mind, right?

To not give a reason why he has dismissed a move for Mata is a little odd in my opinion, probably his valuation is too high, I don’t know.

Oh well, looks like Mata will not be joining us this summer. Let’s just hope some one of quality does – only 18 days to go.

Don’t be so naive. You should know by now, assuming you have not just started following football, that Wenger does not conduct his transfer dealings in public. Why do you find it odd that he doesn’t give reasons for not going after this player, he has said numerous times that (unlike most other managers) he does not disrespect other clubs by going into details about their players.

We don’t need another winger. A creative midfielder and CB are desperate needs. A CDM with positional sense would be a nice addition, as well.
