Is Samir Nasri already a City player?

A question I’ve been asking myself since the Frenchman decided to stall on a new deal at the Emirates. Obviously he is still a Gunner, but his attitude and body language suggests otherwise.

Reports suggest that City’s pursuit of the 24-year-old midfielder, who netted 15 goals for Arsenal last season, will finally come to an end by the end of the week.

French publication L’Equipe reported yesterday that Nasri had already agreed personal terms of £185,000-a-week (9.6 million a year) ahead of a potential move to the Eastland’s later this month.

Arsene Wenger is reluctant to sell one of his prized assets to a rival club, but the midfielder’s contribution in pre-season suggests that his commitment and future at the Emirates is coming to an end. Many (including myself) believe that Wenger’s £20 million gamble to let the Frenchman see out the last year of his contract and leave on a free next summer is absolutely ludicrous.

Sources in France claim that Nasri’s deal to the Etihad outfit has been in place for sometime – wouldn’t be surprised if it was.

Not sure about all you other Gooners out there, but to me, Nasri looks like he is on his way out this summer – his body language during pre-season indicated to me that he no longer wants to play for us.

He has put his future in major doubt ever since deciding to stall on a new deal at Arsenal, and to put us (the club) between a rock and a hard place is just not on.

I would sell him for around £22-25 million to any club interested and sign a replacement – no point in losing him on a free next summer.

If recent reports are accurate then Nasri is already a City a player – I just feel sorry for those who printed his name on the back of their new Arsenal shirt.
