Nicklas Bendtner is finally facing the Emirates exit doors with reports suggesting that Sporting Lisbon are set to complete a £9 million move for the Danish striker this weekend.

Bendtner, who netted just 2 Premier League goals last season, is known to be unhappy at the lack of regular first-team football at Arsenal and has, in the past, openly admitted that he would like a move away from the Gunners this summer.

Despite showing moments of brilliance with his strength on the ball, good dribbling and ability to link up play with other forward players over recent years – though his finishing usually left a lot to be desired – the Dane was unable to hold down a regular first- team place at the Emirates, and will find it even harder now with Gervinho amongst the pack.

According to Correio da Manha, the Portuguese outfit want the deal done before the clubs game against Spanish club Valencia this Saturday – this hopefully being the date that the 23-year-old is unveiled as a Sporting player.

Bendtner will be leaving the club with just 2 shy of 100 league appearances for Arsenal, having netted 22 goals in his 98 league appearances for the club.

Hopefully, if this £9 million deal transpires, Arsene Wenger will use the money to good use.

or looking at it another way, 10.5 on gernvinho, and sell bendtner for 9=gervinho for 1.5million-good business!!! (but don’t be surprised if we loan him out instead, like denilson, no one wants to commit to big transfer sums on mediocre players!)
