FIVE reasons why Fabregas should join Barcelona

The Cesc Fabregas transfer saga continues to drag on throughout the transfer window, with Arsenal only willing to let their captain leave ‘at the right price’, and Barcelona unwilling to pay above their valuation of around £35 million for the midfielder.

It seems that although everyone involved with the club, fans and players alike, will be hoping their talisman remains in North London, there are several reasons that ought to be considered as to why Fabregas’ return to Barcelona may be the best solution to this rather lengthy dilemma.

1. Rejoin his boyhood club

Fabregas started his ‘footballing career’ with Barcelona before being snapped up by Arsenal in 2003 at the age of 16. Whilst he will undoubtedly owe much of his education and training in football to Arsenal, it seems a desire to return to where he established his talent is of huge importance not only to Barcelona, but to Cesc himself.

2. Win trophies

As we all well know, Arsenal have now gone 6 years without a trophy, and despite mounting a challenge for the league for the best part of a season, theirs always seems to collapse towards the latter stages. Barcelona have established themselves as the Spanish giants, and it is difficult to imagine a season in which they are not competing at the top of the league, if not running away with it.

3. To play for the champions of Europe

Barcelona have not only proven themselves domestically, but they have also shown the consistency of champions on the European stage throughout the years, most recently of course being crowned champions of Europe at the end of last season. Arsenal on the other hand have failed to establish themselves as one of the European greats in recent years, and often seem to falter to against the ‘big’ teams like Barcelona themselves.

4. Arsenal could do with the money

Should a compromise between the clubs valuation of Fabregas be met then, despite recent reports that Arsenal have ‘substantial money’ to spend in the window, an extra £30-40 million can only strengthen their power in the market. Arsenal would have the time and the funding to help find a suitable replacement for their star man, and ultimately help create some positives out of a situation that, up until now, has been particularly bleak for everybody involved with the club.

5. He wants to leave

If we are to believe the claims of Barcelona midfielder Xavi, then Cesc is supposedly “suffering” whilst he remains an Arsenal player. Fabregas has expressed his desire to leave North London before, and the last thing Arsene Wenger or the Arsenal fans will want is their captain to remain at the club against his will. Concerns over his effort and commitment will undoubtedly arise and in turn, this will only create further difficulties and angst between the player and the club.

Look we all know his desire, but for all their talk Barcelona aren’t showing the financial desire to buy him at all. Why? Because they don’t actually need him. He’s a symbol more than a necessity. The Catalans just don’t like the idea of one of theirs being such a good quality but not playing for their “national” team.

They will either pay up or they won’t get him.

All these claims of wanting t play for his boyhood club is irrelevant. Our own part should be the fact that he wants to go. If he wants to go, we should not be bothered about where he goes. If any other suitor comes along that offers what matches our valuation, then let us sell him to the highest bidder. I wish that Man City will come with £50m or more.

how many footballers are playing in this country, how many miss their homes, how many started playing at accadamies in their own countries?????? cesc aint the only player who misses their home, granted its the best team in the world(for now). but other players feel homesick, with nasri situation, im hearing about player power, and we shouldn’t let them dictate to the club, well if we wont let samir go, then HELL, we definately shouldn’t sell the most influential, talismatic, greatest player we got, we need cesc.

My sista, i agree wit U soja come, soja waka. But the price, barca is offerin is small, cos they don’t really need him. If milan can offer beta, lets sell to them, cos i don’t bliv in holdin a player who dose not want to stay!

  • dreday says:

Arsenal won’t budge on Fab’s price. So why are they always complaining about other clubs selling players too high? I think they should always meet the asking price of other clubs too without negotiating, yea sounds off!. They are rogues acting and always crying foul!!
