Merely a sign of respect or pushing for a move?

Cesc Fabregas has seemingly reinforced his wish to move to Barcelona by showing is admiration for Pep Guardiola.

Our captain, stated his ‘greatest idol was Guardiola’ at a promotional event in Jakarta yesterday.

But is Cesc saying this as a sign of respect, or is he pushing for a move back to Barcelona?

The 24-year-old Spaniard has stated that his future was still undecided. He also declared that no decision has been made on the matter yet, and that he had been honoured by ‘playing with some of the best players in the world’.

Personally, I don’t think his recent admiration for Pep is him pushing for a move back to Barcelona.

Last season he said he wanted to return to his boyhood club, but recently said that it was the wrong way to go about a potential move, and believes things will be done discreetly and more respectfully if a deal goes through.

Fabregas has since refused to reveal any more details about a possible move, and I don’t really think that the midfielder is the type of player to hint slyly about one. We all know he wants to return to Barca in the future, but hasn’t indicated it will ensue this summer, after recently declaring his happiness at Arsenal.

Some people may read into it a little and say that he is using past-tense words, but to be honest with you, I don’t think he would say he is happy at the club and then push for a move. He just wouldn’t do it.

I believe in our club captain. I believe that he really wanted a move away then he would just come out and say it. I’d expect him to do what Thierry did when he left for Barcelona.

I believe his latest comments were just a sign of respect towards Guardiola, that’s all. I truly believe that the press are just blowing the whole situation out of proportion as per usual, and starting to stir the pot a little more.

he has always said that guardiola is his hero. Wouldn’t it look a bit weird if he changed this when he has said it on a number of occasions, it doesnt mean anything

This is the time for Wenger to let him go, for the good of both parties. where as he is happy at Arsenal he could be happier at Barcelona! For goodness sake the earlier the better so that a suitable replacement may be sought…or change of system

Regardless as to whether Cesc wants to return home now or later, this annual “will he or won’t he” saga simply has to stop. It is unsettling for player(s), Club and fans.
The only winner is the media with rumours and counter rumours abounding.
One way or another, the future of Cesc must be finally sorted before the start of next season.

This isnt new, What cesc has said about pep is something which he has always said, and i hope he carrys on saying so, cuz there is no harm in admiring someone, even if its barcelona.. what ever happens with cesc i wish him the best, stays or goes.

I think it will be most beneficial for Arsenal to sell Fabragas to the highest bidder. Barca can then go and acquire him from there for free if they can. Passion is an essential ingredient for success in football. While Fabragas is a class art it football, I do not see him playing with utmost passion for Arsenal when his heart is at Barca bcos passion is a thing of the heart. Nasri will be most productive for Arsenal if he switches to the middle. He can the n be given what Fabragas is earning right now.

This is a guy who played and scored against Barsa with a broken leg! To say he does not play with passion for the Gunners is crazy. Of course he admires Pep, who the hell wouldn’t? Te media loves this crap, and to imply that he does not play with or give his all to the Gunners is just plain stupid. Anyone out hrere want to train with these guys day in and day out, much less play a full 90 minutes on a pitch?

Zubairu. It doesnt work that way. The player must agree to move to whichever club. I mean Man City can come and bid 200m but if Fab doesn’t want to go to Man C he just doesn’t. So like ppl here are saying. He can just reject everything and wait for his contract to expire or near expiration so that Barca can get him for their tiny amount
