Are Arsenal the most victimised team in the Premier League?

|

After reading countless posts and fan comments on several blogs and sites on the latest happenings at Arsenal involving Cesc Fabregas, I felt the need to throw my two cents in.

To begin with, what is all the fuss about? What did Fabregas say that has been branded unspeakable by Everton boss David Moyes?

The Spaniard has been accused of insulting a referee in last week’s game against Everton, a crime no other person but Moyes heard of, and apparently, to x-rated for the public to know of. This alleged insult towards the referee was due to the decision to allow Louis Saha’s goal to stand. The offside was so clear that I think Keller Helen and Stevie Wonder would have seen it.

These latest allegations have left me wondering if there is some sort of vendetta against Arsenal.

In my opinion, I think Arsenal are always over-hyped in the media and seem to grab the headlines for the wrong reasons. However, when other players of different teams do the same or most often worse scenarios, it’s brushed under the carpet.

Allow me to outline our sins if you will:

Arsene Wenger has been branded by many as a bad loser and one that loves to moan when things don’t go his way. The Frenchman always hits the headlines for speaking negatively about other managers’. An example of this was when Wenger and Jose Mourinho were rivals from 2004-2007 and they had their moments during this time span. However, a lot of media pundits, writers and fans forget that Wenger praised Mourinho by saying that the Premier League had lost one of its finest coaches when he departed for Inter Milan. I also remember the time when Arsene refused to shake hands with Mark Hughes when ‘Sparky’ was in charge of Manchester City, again, why didn’t, or don’t we hear about other managers in the league refusing to shake hands?

Arsenal are the most victimized team in the premier league. Just look at the Newcastle game. Phil Dowd is not fit to referee in general. After that performance he should be fired, or at least relegated to league 2.
