Jack Wilshere is reportedly wanting a return to Arsenal to establish himself as a key player for the north London club next season.

The 25-year-old is nearing the end of his season-long loan spell at Bournemouth and, according to The Sun, is determined to prove he is a ready-made replacement should Mesut Ozil depart this summer.

The England international will have a year left on his remaining £90,000-a-week this summer and has yet to open talks over a new deal with the Gunners.

Wilshere has previously claimed that he doesn’t know if he will be at Arsenal next season, but with the likely departure of Ozil, the midfielder may have a chance to re-establish himself as a key play for the club.

Arsene Wenger has remained a firm believer in Wilshere and has also said that the loanee has a future at the Emirates.

The only problem Wilshere faces is being able to keep fit. He has struggled with injuries in the past which stunted his progression. However, he has been ever-present for Bournemouth this season and injury-free.

His potential inclusion next season would be a huge boost to Arsenal’s midfield which has been depleted at times this term. Even if Ozil decides to stay, there is no reason why Wilshere can’t play regularly at Arsenal next season.
