Arsenal could land AC Milan’s Franck Kessie this January by offering Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in a swap deal.
Tottenham are also interested in the 25-year-old and even offered Tanguy N’Dombele as part of a swap deal for the midfielder.
However, Milan turned down the offr. Edu could now attempt to offer Aubameyang, who is no longer in Mikel Arteta’s first-team plans, for the Ivory Coast international.
The 32-year-old has become surplus to requirements and has been offered to any club in Europe willing to take him on – including AC Milan – but the Gunners could find it hard to find a suitor for Aubameyang, who currently earns £350k-a-week at the Emirates.
Kessie would be a perfect long-term option for Arsenal’s midfield shortage and be a fine addition to the squad with Ainsley Maitland-Niles off to Roma
Kessie has been linked with Arsenal in the past and could be available for a cut-price this month and would only want up to £150k-a-week, something the Gunners could afford.
Milan could be willing to listen to Arsenal’s proposed offer as they look to find a suitable replacement for the ageing Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
