A number of Arsenal fans have been left lauding Mohamed Elneny after the Egyptians showing during the narrow win over Manchester United.

There was a particular moment during the encounter which warmed the hearts of the north London faithful towards the 28-year-old.

With Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side chasing an equaliser deep into stoppage time, the deep-lying midfielder went chasing the ball as he stopped Luke Shaw from finding a teammate, instead, pushing him back towards his own goal.

One fan even claimed he was ‘the best player in the world’.

Elneny has returned to the club this season following his season-long loan spell at Turkish club Besiktas.

His future at the club seemed far from certain back in the summer on 2019 after former head coach Unai Emery publically declared the Egypt international wasn’t in his plans.

However, it seems the defensive midfielder has been given a new lease of life under Mikel Arteta, starting all but three of the first-team fixtures this campaign.

Here are the reactions from some of the Emirates Stadium faithful as Elneny went on a lung-bursting run in stoppage time:

Arsenal fans, what did you make of Elneny’s performance in yesterday’s victory? Let us know your thoughts!
