Valencia are interested in signing Matteo Guendouzi on a season-long loan with an option to buy.
The La Liga club are keen on bringing the 21-year-old to the Mestalla this season on a temporary basis with a fixed option to buy next summer for £16million.
They have already held talks with the Frenchman’s representatives but want an answer from the Gunners by the weekend, reports The Mirror.
Guendouzi is thought to have attracted interest from clubs in both Spain and France and while the option of loaning him out this season might appeal to Arsenal, the club would prefer a straight sale to fund other transfer business of their own.
Its understood that the Gunners still want to sign another midfielder this summer with Atletico Madrid’s Thomas Partey in their sights, while also wanting to bring back Dani Ceballos on another loan.
In order to acquire both players however, the club will need to offload a couple of players of their own which could very well include Guendouzi after the midfielder fell out of favour with Mikel Arteta last season.
