Inter Milan are interested in Arsenal target Thomas Partey, according to reports in Italy.
The 27-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to Arsenal this summer, but the Gunners are struggling to trigger the player’s £45million release clause despite needing midfield reinforcements.
With Matteo Guendouzi still frozen out, Lucas Torreira’s future in doubt and being linked with a move back to Italy and Dani Ceballos returning to Real Madrid following his successful loan spell last season, the Gunners lack of midfield options were apparent when Mohamed Elneny was a shock starter in Arsenal’s Community Shield triumph against Liverpool having spent the last campaign out on loan to Besiktas.
However, Arsenal may not have a clear path of signing Partey as Italian outlet Gazzetta dello Sport now claim Inter Milan boss Antonio Conte is keeping tabs on the Atletico Madrid enforcer as a possible replacement for Marcelo Brozovic, who Bayern Munich are interested in.
With Arteta likely to show a few players the door this summer, the Spaniard will be able to stump up the cash required to land Partey – the type of player they crave in midfield.
