The 23-year-old has recently been linked with a move to the Emirates, with the Gunners reportedly preparing a £27million bid for the Guinean international.
Lucas Torreira’s future at the Emirates remains in doubt with his agent Pablo Bentancur recently claiming it is now down to Mikel Arteta to decide whether he wants to keep him or not. However, a potential swap deal between the two players has now been touted which could see both clubs pleased with the outcome.
Addressing the rumours surrounding Diawara, his agent, Daniele Piraino, told Italian publication Tuttomercatoweb (via Metro):
“He is concentrated on his career.
“Diawara is at a top club like Roma, where he is happy, as there is enthusiasm around the new owners.
“However, he is also liked by many clubs in England, including Arsenal.
“Being linked with certain clubs is pleasing for him, as these are prestigious sides.”
Diawara made 30 appearances across all competitions for Roma last season and with Arteta looking to strengthen his squad this summer, a move for the midfielder looks highly likely to be pushed through with possibly Torreira going the other way.
