Arsenal are reportedly ready to cash in on Emiliano Martinez after identifying a replacement.

The 25-year-old goalkeeper shone for the Gunners at the end of this season after filling in for the injured Bernd Leno and helped the club lift the FA Cup for the 14th time following a 2-1 win over Chelsea.

Martinez’s heroics earned rave reviews from the media and fans alike, with many suggesting he should be Mikel Arteta’s first choice goalkeeper for the upcoming season.

However, The Athletic claim Arteta still views Leno as his number one option and is now prepared to offload Martinez.

The Gunners believe they can fetch around £20million for the sale of Martinez, although the Argentine is hopeful that the club would lower the asking price should a potential suitor not match the fee.

While Martinez’s future hangs in the balance, the Gunners have identified a potential replacement in Brentford’s David Raya.

Arsenal are understood to have been tracking the Spaniard for quite some time and has received promising reviews from the Gunners coach Inaki Cana, who worked with Raya at Brentford.

Fans will be disappointed to hear that the club are planning to get rid of Martinez especially when you consider the time he has spent at the club and his heroics last season. But with no guarantee of playing regularly, perhaps it is an ideal solution for both parties that they finally part ways.
