Chelsea are weighing up a ‘cheeky’ bid for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, according to reports.

Frank Lampard is reportedly keen to sign a new striker this summer with both Olivier Giroud and Michy Batshuayi linked with moves away from Stamford Bridge.

Aubameyang’s future at the Emirates remains in doubt with his current deal set to expire next summer.

Arsenal are preparing for the Gabon international’s potential departure this summer with the Gunners identifying several replacements.

Manchester United, Real Madrid, PSG and Barcelona have all been linked with a move for the 30-year-old and, according to Bleacher Report’s Dean Jones, the former Dortmund striker is now on Chelsea’s radar.

When asked who Chelsea are targeting this summer, Jones said:

“Lampard wants a lot. New keeper, new LB, new CB, new wide forward and a new striker.

“Some targets include: Nick Pope, Ben Chilwell, (Kalidou) Koulibaly, Milan Skriniar, Timo Werner, Jadon Sancho, (Mauro) Icardi, Moussa Dembele, and even look out for a cheeky bid for Aubameyang.”

Arsenal are desperate to hold on to Aubameyang as he has been in goal-scoring form since joining the club in January 2018, scoring 61 times in 97 games in all competitions thus far.

However, it is believed that Aubameyang wants to earn up to £300k-a-week and wants to also play in the Champions League next season and Real Madrid and Barcelona could offer him this.
