Borussia Dortmund have identified Bukayo Saka as a potential replacement for Jadon Sancho, according to reports.

Borussia Dortmund face a tough task in keeping hold of Sancho this summer following the England international’s impressive form with the Bundesliga club this season, where has scored 17 goals and contributed 19 assists in 35 appearances in all competitions.

Several top European clubs are believed to be keen to sign the 20-year-old and Manchester United are said to be leading the race for his signature.

Borussia Dortmund have slapped a £120million asking price on Sancho, but should they fail to keep hold of him this summer, then the German outfit will turn their attention to Saka as they see the 18-year-old as an ideal replacement.

Saka burst onto the scene last season in Arsenal’s Europa League journey under Unai Emery and has been getting more minutes ever since.

Despite being a winger by trait and due to injuries to Kieran Tierney and Sead Kolasinac, Saka has featured mainly at left-back this season where he has excelled.

Saka has scored three goals and set up a further nine in 29 appearances in all competitions so far this season, but the youngster only has one year left to run on his £3,000-a-week deal at the Emirates.

Mikel Arteta revealed last month that he is confident a new deal can be struck with Saka.

However, with talks ongoing and nothing agreed yet, Dortmund will be hoping that they can persuade Saka to join them this summer and follow in the footsteps of Sancho.

Bayern Munich are also believed to be keen on Saka’s signature as well.
