Arsenal are preparing to turn Pablo Mari’s loan move from Flamengo into a £10million permanent deal this summer, despite making just two appearances since his arrival in January.
The 26-year-old featured in Arsenal’s 1-0 Premier League win over West Ham and also in their 2-0 FA Cup victory against Portsmouth.
But despite only pulling on the Arsenal shirt twice, Mikel Arteta has seen enough potential in Mari to make him apart of his first team plans next season, according to David Ornstein.
Ornstein recently revealed that Arsenal are keen on making a move and said on the Ornstein & Chapman podcast:
“I understand it’s very likely they’ll make the loan deal for Pablo Mari into a permanent deal for around £10m.”
Arsenal will be hopefully of landing Mari on a permanent deal after the Spaniard recently admitted that he wants to remain at the Emirates for many years to come.
With several players likely to leave this summer, Arteta would see Mari as an ideal transfer to go ahead with.
