Arsenal have reportedly approached Real Betis over the availability of Nabil Fekir ahead of potential summer move.

The 26-year-old has long been linked with a move to the Premier League and looked almost certain to join Liverpool last summer before the deal collapsed due to his injury record.

Arsenal were also believed to be keen on the idea of signing Fekir but the Frenchman opted for a move to La Liga and join Real Betis instead.

Since his £17.7million switch from Lyon last summer, Fekir has scored seven goals in 22 La Liga appearances this season.

However, it seems Fekir could be set for an early exit from Betis after 12 months at the club with Arsenal thought to be plotting an ambitious move for the attacking midfielder, according to the Daily Star (via Metro).

Its understood that the Gunners have identified Fekir as a potential replacement for Dani Ceballos and enquired about his availability.

Ceballos is set to return to Real Madrid when his loan deal at the Emirates expires in the summer and Mikel Arteta has reportedly sent scouts to scour La Liga to bolster his options in central midfield.

Despite Fekir’s injury record, the Frenchman would certainly flourish at the Emirates under Arteta and is a realistic option for the Gunners this summer.
