Arsenal target Thomas Partey is set to sign a new deal with Atletico Madrid, according to reports in Spain.
The Gunners have been linked with a move for the 26-year-old this summer, with Mikel Arteta keen to bolster his squad ahead of next season.
Partey currently has a reported £45million release clause in his current contract which expires in 2023.
However, Atletico will supposedly offer the Ghana international a new deal which will see the midfielder pocket around £79k-a-week until 2025 and include a staggering £91million release clause to scare off any potential suitors.
Partey is quickly emerging as one of Europe’s top midfielders after another impressive season with Atletico under his belt and has become an instrumental figure within Diego Simeone’s side and playing style.
Although Arteta sees Partey as an ideal candidate to strengthen Arsenal’s midfield area this summer, the Spaniard may be forced to look elsewhere after the latest developments involving the Ghanaian.
