Arsenal have joined Leicester City and Newcastle in the race to sign Brentford forward Said Benrahma.

The 24-year-old Algerian has enjoyed a productive season at Griffin Park, with Brentford currently occupying fifth spot in the Championship.

He recently netted a hat-trick in Brentford’s 5-1 thrashing at Hull, taking his season goal tally up to eight.

His performances have reportedly (via The Sun) attracted the attentions of Arsenal, with the Gunners hoping they can land him ahead of their Premier League rivals.

Benrahma is considered by many as the best player in the Championship this season and has proved a steal since arriving from Nice for just £1.5million two years ago.

Benrahma is currently under contract until 2022 but it is believed a bid in the region of £15million could be enough to tempt the Bees to sell this summer.

Brentford will be hoping that they could clinch promotion to the Premier League this season to keep hold of their prized asset, but even that is not guaranteed, especially if the likes of Arsenal are supposedly interested.
