Chris Sutton clashed with Steven Sidwell over who would win a trophy first out of Tottenham and Arsenal.

Sidwell claimed Spurs would win a trophy before the Gunners due to Jose Mourinho now being at the Gunners’ London rivals, and the BT Sport pundit‘s comments didn’t go down well.

Sutton quickly called Sidwell a creep, and then groaned at the thought of Mourinho being able to rack up a trophy with Spurs before Arsenal get their hands on any more silverware.

“Spurs,” said Sidwell (10:04am, BT Sport 1, Saturday, November 23rd).

Sutton replied: “Why Spurs? You’re such a creep.”

Sidwell then simply replied “because of Mourinho” and Sutton loudly groaned.

Is Sidwell entitled to back Spurs for trophy glory ahead of Arsenal?

Mourinho signed Sidwell for Chelsea when he was in the Stamford Bridge’s hot seat, and it seems Sutton believes that his fellow BT Sport pundit’s opinion is a bit bias for that reason, as that seems the most likely reason to call him a creep.

However, it is hard to predict who will win a trophy first out of Arsenal and Spurs, as both don’t look close to lifting any silverware this season.

Yet then again with The FA Cup yet to get underway this season, perhaps both North London clubs will go all out to win that prestigious bit of silverware this season. Both London clubs nearly added a trophy to their cabinet last season, but both fell at the last hurdle.

Spurs reached the Champions League final before losing to Liverpool, while Arsenal reached the Europa League final before absolutely crumbling against Chelsea.

While Sidwell is ready to bank on Mourinho leading Spurs to glory, perhaps he’ll change his mind if Arsenal exchange Unai Emery for another manager.

After all the current Gunners boss is under pressure with his side sitting a disappointing seventh in the table.
