Gary Lineker is not happy with Robbie Savage’s suggestion that Arsenal should hire Leicester’s Brendan Rodgers as their next manager.

Arsenal sacked Unai Emery on Friday and Rodgers has been linked with replacing the Frenchman in the Emirates hotseat.

The former Liverpool and Celtic manager has done a tremendous job since taking charge at the King Power in February and currently sees th Foxes sitting second in the Premier League table.

Savage took to his personal Twitter account on Friday to claim that Rodgers is his pick to replace Emery but Leciester-mad Lineker was having none of it.

“F*** off,” he said on his Twitter account in response to Savage’s tweet.

What do we think?

If fans of a club don’t want to see their manager leave – that is a good sign.

Rodgers has done superbly well since replacing Claude Puel at the King Power and Leicester look as though they should secure a top-four finish in the Premier League this season.

Rodgers’ side is full of young players who are all showing tremendous potential and ability and that is why Savage has tipped him for the job at Arsenal.

However it has to be noted how Rodgers did at Liverpool.

Yes, he finished second in one season at Anfield but the rest of his spell on Merseyside was not that great.

Rodgers won everything in Scotland but his Celtic side – especially in the final year and a half of his reign – hardly did anything out of the ordinary and if anything, should have done a lot better than they did.

Leicester fans won’t want him to go and he might not be a popular choice among Arsenal fans too.

Maybe Rodgers has found his level.
