Arsenal fans have been responding in their waves on social media after experienced right-back Hector Bellerin captained the side for the first time in his career, some felt that he should have received the armband permanently.
Bellerin, 24, moved to Arsenal in the summer of 2011 and has suffered an array of injuries since his arrival but has become a fan favourite during his time at the club.
The Spaniard took the armband on Thursday and led his team to a 4-0 victory against Standard Liege in the Europa League.

Bellerin was one of several players that impressed on the night and told BT Sport (quoted by GiveMeSport) that he was “grateful to all the coaches, the physios, my family and friends who have been there”.
