A large section of Arsenal fans on Twitter have called for Alexandre Lacazette to be made club captain after the striker liked an expletive Instagram post about the club.
The story emerged late last night on The Daily Mail, after the club’s miserable 2-2 draw with Crystal Palace at the Emirates, where both Granit Xhaka and Unai Emery came under fire from supporters.
And it seems Lacazette wanted to showcase his feelings about the club in a different manner, taking to Instagram to like a sweary post that called for Xhaka and Emery to go.
He eventually unliked the post, but fans on Twitter united behind the Frenchman’s original activity and some even claimed he should replace Xhaka as club captain after the Swiss midfielder swore at Gunners fans when they booed him off the pitch.
This man needs to be our captain!!!

Firstly @LacazetteAlex is right to be gutted with both the manager and Xhaka. Xhaka disrespected @Aubameyang7 by throwing the armband to the ground. I don’t care if he was provoked or not, you don’t disrespect your teammates.

What do we think?
It’s difficult to read into this too much, given that Lacazette hitting like on a post is the least of Arsenal’s woes. What’s good to see is that Arsenal fans are still maintaining their sense of humour in spite of the doom and gloom that surrounds the Emirates right now.
