According to Gazzetta dello Sport (via Sport Witness), Arsenal have enquired for a two-year loan deal for Juventus centre-back Daniele Rugani with the possibility that they also take Sami Khedira off their hands as part of the package.
Rugani is expected to fall down the pecking order at the Serie A champions as Maurizio Sarri strengthened his defensive department with the €75m (£68m) arrival of Matthijs de Ligt from Eredivisie giants Ajax.
Meanwhile Arsenal boss Unai Emery appears desperate to add some stability to his back four with club captain Laurent Koscielny off the rails following his refusal to travel on their pre-season tour and the potential exit of £35m flop Shkodran Mustafi.
A number of the Arsenal fanbase took to social media to share their thoughts on Rugani.
One supporter really doesn’t want the Italian to join, labelling him just another Mustafi and these sentiments were echoed by one other, who said they would rather sign Samuel Umtiti or Jonathan Tah. Though, one disagreed and said it would nicely push Mustafi out the door.
Another pleaded the club get someone better whilst others claimed that he wouldn’t make a whole lot of difference as he would only arrive to make up numbers.
Here’s the best of the reaction:
No thanks, just another Mustafi

From what I’ve seen, he doesn’t seem to be the answer to our defence. Wont make a whole lot of difference, just to make up the quantity.
