He may not have played for Arsenal in 18 months, but Olivier Giroud is still getting stick from Arsenal fans following his move to Chelsea.
That may not be so surprising, especially with the Frenchman continuing to be berated by his former followers after scoring against Arsenal in May’s Europa League final.
The clip that followed Chelsea’s triumph of the striker mocking his former employers is also still very fresh in the minds of these Arsenal fans – who seem in no mood to forgive the player with over 100 Gunners goals.
So when the World Cup winner gave his opinion on the current situation at the club with his ex-teammate Laurent Koscielny, fans seemed reluctant to show any interest in Giroud’s thoughts on the matter.
Speaking to the BBC, Giroud claimed that he was “pretty sure we don’t know everything in this situation”.
Looking to stand up for Koscielny – who has refused to travel on Arsenal’s pre-season tour – Giroud has said the Arsenal captain is “very hurt” by the rift between himself and the club, though these Arsenal fans seemed to have taken more of an issue with the release of their former striker’s views on the ongoing row:
Who care what he thinks?

No one cares what Giroud thinks

No one cares what Giroud has to say.

Why is he talking about our club? Very disrespectful

Who cares what Giroud has to say. Koscielny has been treated well, he should’ve been stripped of the captaincy and his squad number.

No interest in #Giroud given his behaviour after the cup final

We would take Giroud seriously if he didn’t hurt Arsenal fans with his tasteless social media clip after Chelsea won the Europa League

Giroud doesn’t play for Arsenal. His views are therefore irrelevant.

@_OlivierGiroud_ you ain’t nothing but a snake.
