These Arsenal supporters would suggest that blowing a large chunk of their transfer budget on Wilfried Zaha will cause unease amongst the fanbase.
That’s because talk of the club keeping tabs on Rennes winger Ismaila Sarr has been given the seal of approval from some fans – as a cheaper alternative to the Crystal Palace forward who will look to cost The Gunners more than the total of their reported transfer budget – with The Eagles said to be holding out for a nine-figure sum.
Sarr will be fairly familiar to Unai Emery and Arsenal having featured – and scored – in a Europa League tie against The Gunners back in March, and with the Senegalese attacker rated at £27m, Arsenal’s finances would take less of a hit.
While some fans seemed irritated with the search for an attacker rather than targeting defensive additions, the cost-effectiveness of a potential deal for 21-year-old Sarr was talked up amongst the supporters – some highlighting his versatility as another key attribute in making Arsenal’s limited funds go further this summer.
So as the Gunners fans give a green light to the forward, it looks like it’s down to Emery to seal the deal:
I certainly would rather pay 35m for Sarr than pay anything above 45m for Zaha

Tho Sarr is just 21 y/o and is a LW/RW/ST and i think we’ll need a couple of versatile players in our squad due to our ”low” budget
