With Arsenal’s initial £40m bid for Wilfried Zaha being labelled ‘embarrassing’ by Crystal Palace, it is probably going to take a little more to lure the services of the Ivorian over to the Emirates Stadium.
But with no more room in the club’s reported transfer budget to increase their bid, reports suggested that Arsenal’s negotiators are set to ask owner Stan Kroenke for more funds.
However, fans are not expectant of the club’s transfer chiefs of getting their way, with some angry at the club for having to ask their owner for money, and their apparent intentions to spend a lot of money on Zaha – while the owner himself could not escape the wrath of the Gunners fans, either.
Other supporters were also irked by the team’s pursuit of the attacker in the belief that defensive signings should be the priority this summer – so it seems the Arsenal transfer team will not be able to please everyone despite efforts to get deals over the line as the deadline creeps closer.
An injection of cash from the owner would surely help that, but judging by some these responses, fans believe that the club shouldn’t even bother asking:
That won’t happen

They should go for central-defenders first……And other defensive and midfield reinforcements are priority…….Zaha is not needed at the moment…….

Shouldn’t have to appeal to him in the first place.

I would refuse to give them extra funding if I was Kroenke if their plan is to use it to sign Zaha

How did Mr. Kroenke wind up owning Arsenal in the first place? Such a football-misfit!

We now have to appeal before we can spend fund to buy a player? #kronkeout
