Alex Iwobi’s recent comments surrounding reported target Wilfried Zaha have caused a stir amongst the media as well as some of the Arsenal fanbase. The Sun reported that the winger could quit the club should Crystal Palace’s £80m-rated ace joined The Gunners this summer – though, Iwobi was quick to hit back by responding on Twitter to try and refute the claims.

Even with this latest update, many Arsenal fans are furious with the 23-year-old winger with one fan claiming he is the child of the club. A number of supporters also used the saga to fuel their want for the Nigerian international to leave the club regardless of what happens, one member of the Emirates support said they wouldn’t mind if he left and another said he was still free to leave the club with or without Zaha joining.
Iwobi made his Gunners debut in November 2015 and has been embroiled in controversy ever since. In January 2018, a video was released which allegedly showed the rising star partying merely 36 hours before their FA Cup match with Nottingham Forest and earlier this year he was the subject of racial abuse at the hands of Indian actress Esha Gupta.
The youngster is one appearance away from the 150 landmark for the senior side where he has scored 15 goals and assisted 27 more – primarily from the left flank – yet his popularity amongst the Arsenal fanbase is still mixed. This latest update shows that, with a couple of fans adding that he should fix his finishing whilst another labelled him useless.

I hope it’s wrong… really. You’re a child of the club, you must rejoice if Zaha comes.

Yes he is free to quit. He is a B grade player talking like an A grade player. He needs to shut up and show his talent on the pitch

If true then it shows his mentality, doesn’t want to fight for his place IF its true of course, I’d straight swap with cash for zaha
— GalwayGooner (@Allergic2Spuds) July 21, 2019
I hope he does..: he is useless ????
— Illy (@illyboy007) July 21, 2019
Loser mentality. Doesn’t wanna compete, wants to get easy game time with no pressure on him – probably the reason he hasn’t improved in the slightest despite being in and around the first team for years. Still living off his uncles name ????
