Alex Iwobi admits he may leave Arsenal if he was to lose his place to Wilfried Zaha.

The Crystal Palace winger has become Arsenal’s number one target this summer and have already had a reported £40million bid rejected by the Eagles who want at least £70million for the 26-year-old’s sale.

And should Unai Emery be successful in landing Zaha this summer, Iwobi has hinted that he could look to leave the Emirates as he may not feature regularly for the Gunners this season:

‘I am not one to chicken out. I have had it all over the years, being told I’m not good enough.

‘So whenever the chance comes I always try and prove I should be starting. But its going to be difficult if Zaha comes, He will add more stress.

‘I am up for the fight but the only time I would consider leaving is if I am not playing as much as I would like to.

‘If it comes to that I would have no choice but to leave. But I would always put up a fight to play – that is what I’ve done all my life.’

Arsenal have yet to register a second bid for Zaha. But its been reported that the forward has been left furious with Palace’s reluctance to sell him and now seeks a new challenge.

Zaha would certainly fill a void in Arsenal’s attack and his versatility would be beneficial in the upcoming season.

However, it remains to be seen if the Gunners will table another offer for the Ivory Coast international which will meet Palace’s valuation of the player.
