Arsenal’s pursuit of Yannick Carrasco may end up defining the team’s destiny – and perhaps Unai Emery’s reign – next season.
Having failed to bring in the Belgian in January, Emery’s renewed quest to get Carrasco to North London looks to have taken a step forward, with reports claiming that the 25-year-old has agreed to join the club.
Currently playing in China for Dalian Yifang, Carrasco is thought to be keen on a move back to Europe, and with Gunners fans not seeing a major signing since the summer (apart from witnessing Denis Suarez’s brief Emirates career), some are excited by the developments of a move supporters had feared would be out of The Gunners’ price range.
With the negotiations reportedly still ongoing, some fans are wary of getting their hopes up at this early stage of the window – while others are encouraged by the business Arsenal are doing as they look to seal a Champions League berth for the first time since 2015/16.
Wide players are currently at a premium at Arsenal, with Alex Iwobi the only recognised winger at the club, so the signing of Carrasco would surely help achieve their ambitions next season – and these fans seem to agree:
Pls be true!!!!
