It was the talking point that threatened to overshadow the Europa League final – but Baku’s foreign policy soon did for that.

Although, Petr Cech’s purported move back to Chelsea caused enough of a stir when he was linked with a sporting director role just before the final between the ‘keeper’s two London clubs.

Having rejoined Chelsea, Arsenal fans have been not so gratuitous in their response to Cech’s departure becoming official, as he ended his playing days conceding four goals to the club that employs him once again.

Cech spent four seasons at the Emirates Stadium, but for all the silverware he won in West London, just one FA Cup followed in Arsenal colours after Thibaut Courtois had forced him out of the Chelsea starting XI.

And with the Europa defeat still etched in the memories of the Arsenal fans, it seems as if any hope of thanking the goalkeeper for his efforts as a Gunner went out the window despite a battling personal performance in his final game as a professional while his new club eased to victory.

The bitterness may die down eventually, but these fans would have you believe Chelsea sold Arsenal a dud back in 2015:
