Alexandre Lacazette seems to be on Europe’s summer wishlist with Atletico Madrid reportedly interested in signing the Frenchman.
After learning Antoine Griezmann will be leaving Atletico Madrid this summer, Diego Simeone has started the process of finding a suitable replacement and has Lacazette on his shortlist.
French newspaper Le 10 Sport (via The Daily Mail) claim that the Madrid-based club have ‘made initial contact’ with the Gunners over the availability of Lacazette.
Arsenal will be desperate to keep hold of the 27-year-old this summer after forming a strong striking partnership with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang this season.
The French striker netted 13 Premier League goals and assisted a further eight whilst playing a crucial role in leading Unai Emery’s side to the Europa League final this season in Baku.
Atletico Madrid are not the only club reportedly keen on the former Lyon forward with Barcelona also linked with a move for him.
Lacazette admitted last week that he was ‘flattered’ by the interest shown in him from Barcelona. However, it remains to be seen if Arsenal will listen to offers for him when the transfer window opens next month.
