Arsenal’s head of recruitment Sven Mislintat is growing increasingly unhappy with his current role at the Emirates and is understood to be considering an exit a year after joining.

Unai Emery has stated that there are no funds available to him to make any signing this month, with loan deal the only possibility of bringing in players.

Barcelona’s Denis Suarez and Sevilla’s Ever Banega have been targeted by Emery as potential targets, but The Independent (via Metro) claim Mislintat and new Director of Football Raul Sanllehi are not seeing eye-to-eye.

Denis Suarez and Ever Banega. But the Independent report that Mislintat has had little say in either target, with Emery taking a bigger role in identifying players than was anticipated.

Despite recruiting several top-quality players during his time at Borussia Dortmund, Mislintat’s recommendations have been ignored.

Bayern Munich are said to be paying very close attention on Mislintat’s situation and see the German as the ideal candidate to help overhaul their squad and could make an approach this month.

Mislintat joined Arsenal in November 2017 and made an immediate impact by signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Dortmund. The German was also involved in several deals over the summer, including Bernd Leno and Sokratis.

However, his influence has faded since and has had little say in decisions to pursue Suarez and Banega, resulting in the German contemplating his future at the Emirates.
