Unai Emery has dismissed rumours that Arsenal’s Head of Recruitment Sven Mislintat is set to leave the Emirates and insists they have been working ‘normally’ this January.

Arsenal have been on the lookout for a technical director and their decision to overlook Mislintat for the role has supposedly made the German consider an exit from the Gunners after 13 months at the club.

Mislintat joined Arsenal from Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund in November 2017 and Bayern Munich are now thought the be interested in acquiring his services.

Emery has since stated he doesn’t know if there is any truth to the rumours of Mislintat’s departure and claims he and the German have been in regular contact in recent weeks.

When asked about reports surrounding Mislintat’s future, Emery replied:

“I was working with him the last two weeks we had two or three meetings together.

“We are working normally. I don’t know other issues. I don’t know [if he’s leaving].

“My relationship about transfers is we’ve been speaking about that for the last 2 or 3 weeks.”

The news will come as a relief to the Emirates faithful and the club in whole as Mislintat has already managed to bring in a number of high-profile players such as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang since taking up the role at Arsenal.
