Arsenal have entered the race to sign Cagliari midfielder Nicolo Barella.
The 21-year-old has featured regularly for the Serie A club this season, making 20 appearances and scoring one goal in all competitions thus far, with his performances attracting interest from the Premier League.
Chelsea have targeted the midfielder as a potential replacement for the outgoing Cesc Fabregas, while its claimed Manchester United are also interested and have tested the water by tabling a £30million offer for the Italian.
It’s now been reported by Sky Italia (via TribalFootball) that Arsenal are also keen on Barella and contacted Cagliari over the player’s availability.
Barella has previously stated that his style of football suits that of the Premier League. However, Cagliari will only sell the Italian international this month if a bid of around £45million is tabled.
