Arsenal remain confident of signing Denis Suarez this January after another session of successful talks with Barcelona.
Unai Emery has identified the midfielder as his top target this month, but the Spaniard has nothing to spend and being forced to investigate a loan deal for the 25-year-old which has complicated matters with Barcelona, who would prefer the deal to be a permanent one.
A move for Suarez looked in serious doubt last week as a result of Arsenal’s lack of transfer funds, but the Daily Mirror suggests that the Gunners now sense there could be breakthrough after holding successful talks with Barcelona.
Arsenal remain hopeful of agreeing a loan move for the Spaniard for the rest of the season with an option to buy in the summer for around £18million.
Suarez is believed to be keen on a return to England and would welcome the idea of working under Emery once again.
