Arsenal have reportedly approached Juventus over the availability of Medhi Benatia.

Unai Emery has recently admitted that the Gunners will be in the market for a centre-back this month following a season-ending injury to Rob Holding and Benatia has emerged as a potential target in previous weeks.

The 31-year-old is out-of-favour at Juventus this season after the Serie A club resigned Leonardo Bonucci last summer with the Morocco international making just six appearances in all competitions thus far.

Italian publication Gazzetta dello Sport, as reported by Metro, now claim Arsenal have enquired about Benatia’s availability ahead of a possible transfer this month.

However, despite Benatia’s limited opportunities this term, Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri is understood to want to keep hold of the centre-back until the end of the season, meaning Arsenal will have to wait until the summer to make a move.

Schalke are also believed to have contacted Juventus about Benatia.
