AC Milan are interested in signing Henrikh Mkhitaryan, according to reports in Italy.
The 29-year-old is currently sidelined with an ankle injury but has been in and out of the team under Unai Emery this season.
The Gunners themselves have been heavily linked with a move for Barcelona’s Denis Suarez in recent weeks and there are now suggestions that Mkhitaryan will be moved on in order to get the deal over the line this month.
Italian publication Calciomercato.it (via InsideFutbol) claim AC Milan have been tracking the Arsenal midfielder for some time and believe there is an opportunity to sign him before the January transfer window closes, with his agent, Mino Raiola, also having a long-lasting relationship with the Serie A club.
Mkhitaryan himself could consider a move away from the Emirates in search for more regular first-team football but because the Armenian is one of Arsenal’s top earners, AC Milan could struggle to meet his wage demands.
Mkhitaryan joined the Gunners from Manchester Untied in January last year with Alexis Sanchez going the other way and has made 37 appearances in all competitions thus far for the Gunners.
