Arsenal will be looking to get back to winning ways this afternoon when they take on Burnley at the Emirates in the Premier League.

The Gunners have lost two consecutive games in a row having previously gone 22 games in all competitions unbeaten, and Unai Emery will want to bag all three points today if they are to keep in touch with the top four

Meanwhile, Burnley lie in 18th place and are desperate for anything they can get at this time having picked up just one win from their last seven Premier League games.

Arsenal injury news remains the same, with Danny Welbeck, Konstantinos Mavropanos, Rob Holding, Hector Bellerin and Shkodran Mustafi all ruled out through injury until further notice. Sead Kolasinac missed the Carabao Cup game in mid-week and will be assessed ahead of kick-off along with Henrikh Mkhitaryan who picked up a slight knock to his ankle in his last game for the Gunners.

So, what should Arsenal’s starting XI look like to take on Burnley in a few hours?

Well, here is the starting XI and formation I am hoping to see Emery utilize today:

Leno

Lichtsteiner          Sokratis          Koscielny          Monreal

Torreira          Guendouzi

Iwobi          Ozil          Lacazette

Aubameyang

Emery has been using the 5-3-2/3-4-3 (however you want to look at it) as of late. And whilst it has work to good effect, I think a 4-2-3-1 formation is the way to go today. It’s a formation the squad are comfortable with and its an attacking one as well.

Leno should come in for Petr Cech, who played mid-week against Spurs, and the back four should consist of Stephan Lichtsteiner and Nacho Monreal as full-backs, with Sokratis and Laurent Koscielny partnering up in the heart of the defence.

I Like the pairing of Lucas Torreira and Matteo Guendouzi and think this is a game they can make their presence felt in midfield.

Mesut Ozil hasn’t featured in a while for Arsenal, but this is a game he should play in and prove to Emery why the Spaniard needs him.

Front three should consist of Alex Iwobi and Alexandre Lacazette on the flanks, with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang down the middle. All three can interchange and cause big problems to the Burnley defence today.
