Bayern Munich are confident that they’ve beaten off interest from Liverpool and Chelsea to sign Aaron Ramsey.
The 27-year-old’s current contract at the Emirates expires next summer despite the Gunners reportedly offering the midfielder a new deal and then withdrawing it in September.
It’s believed that the club have told Ramsey that he was not in Unai Emery’s long-term plans, leaving the door open for a departure in January or at the end of the season.
Several top European and Premier League clubs have been linked with a move for Ramsey in recent months, but it seems Bayern Munich have won the race for his signature on a free transfer next summer, according to reports.
The Wales international is free to sign a pre-contract agreement with a foreign club in January and the reported deal to Bayern Munich is understood to be like that of Leon Goretzka, who moved to German giants from Schalke on a free over the summer.
Ramsey has been at Arsenal for 10 seasons now and most noticeably scored the winning goal in two FA Cup finals for the Gunners as well as being voted their player of the season last year.
