Barcelona midfielder Denis Suarez wants to leave the Nou Camp and join Arsenal, according to reports in Spain.

The 24-year-old has played just 90 minutes of football for the La Liga club this season – this being in the Copa del Rey – and is reportedly ready to leave in search of regular first-team action.

Suarez has yet to feature for Ernesto Valverde’s La Liga side this season and Spanish publication AS, as reported by Metro, that the midfielder was upset that his manager overlooked him during the Catalan club’s 4-3 defeat to Real Betis, opting to bring on Arturo Vidal, Munir El Haddadi and Carles Alena instead.

With the Spaniard clearly out-of-favour at the Nou Camp, he has now decided to leave Spain and target a move to the Premier League.

Its understood that Suarez’s chosen destination is Arsenal and has told his representatives to start exploring a potential move to the Emirates this January.

Unai Emery knows of Suarez’s capabilities having worked with him at Sevilla, where he made 46 appearances, scored six goals and created five for the La Liga club.

Suarez appears eager to work with Emery once again, although it remains to be seen if Arsenal are keen on doing a deal themselves.
