Arsenal are considering a January swoop for Lille’s as they look to replace the injured .

It is unclear as to how long Welbeck will be sidelined for, but the forward may well miss the remainder of the season which could prompt to bring in January reinforcements as a result.

Lille winger Pepe has been linked with a move for Arsenal in recent weeks and, according to The Times, Emery is considering a move for the forward when the winter transfer window opens.

Pepe, who is also being tracked by Tottenham, has netted eight goals in 13 Ligue 1 appearances so far this season and is thought to be valued at around £27million.

Emery’s main target this season is to seal a Champions League qualification spot for next season and may look to recruit a couple of new faces in January to achieve his goal.
