Arsenal are preparing to launch a £53million January bid for Bayern Munich’s James Rodriguez, according to reports in Spain.
The 27-year-old Colombian, who is currently on loan from Real Madrid, is reportedly unsettled with life in Germany and found it difficult to adjust to Niko Kovac’s system at Bayern Munich, according to Spanish publication Don Balon.
Rodriguez is said to be looking to start a fresh elsewhere at the earliest opportunity and Arsenal are reportedly ready to table an offer for the midfield star.
Unai Emery is a fan of Rodriguez and sees the Colombian international as a possible replacement for Aaron Ramsey, who looks set to leave the club when his contract expires next summer.
Rodriguez is currently injured but is expected to be back fit by the time the January transfer window opens, leaving Arsenal able to make a move.
However, if the Gunners want to sign the playmaker then they will have to start negotiations with both Bayern and Real Madrid as the La Liga outfit is his parent club and will need to know what’s going on. This may prove difficult than most transfers, but Arsenal have every chance of clinching a deal this January and will reportedly continue their pursuit of Rodriguez.
