Arsenal are close to signing Miguel Almiron from Atlanta United for £11.5million, according to reports.

90min.com say a deal for the Paraguayan international to move to the Emirates in the January transfer window is close to being completed with Atlanta president Darren Eales having reportedly said that the player is moving to England.

Fans on Twitter were excited about the potential signing of Almiron:

Others admit that they do not know much about the 24-year-old midfielder:

Almiron generally plays in the number 10 role, but can also play from the left-hand side. Since moving from Argentinian football at the start of 2017, the playmaker has hit the ground running in MLS.

He was instrumental in helping Atlanta to the playoffs in their inaugural season. The Paraguayan has followed that up with some excellent displays in his second year in the United States, scoring 12 goals and contributing 13 assists in 31 games so far this campaign.
