Sampdoria will look to increase the buyout clause of reported Arsenal target Dennis Praet, according to the Gazzetta Dello Sport (via Football-Italia.net).
At the end of July, Calciomercato.com said that the Gunners were interested in signing the Belgian midfielder, in addition to his former teammate Lucas Torreira.
However, the Arsenal did not bid for Praet before the close of the summer transfer window, despite the player having a €26m (£23.2m) release clause.
It now seems Sampdoria want to offer a contract extension to the 24-year-old, and increase his buyout fee in the process, with the midfielder now attracting the interest of Juventus, Inter Milan, Roma and Napoli.
Praet has been sidelined with a knee injury for a few weeks and has only played once so far this season. He started the 1-0 win over Viterbese in the Coppa Italia back in mid-August.
Last season, he was ever-present alongside Torreira in the heart of Sampdoria’s midfield, making 35 league appearances.
