The transfer window may have closed last week but Arsenal’s work in the market is never finished, as the Gunners look to secure the best young prospects.

A stern battle is emerging for the services of Republic of Ireland youth international Elvis Azah, as The Daily Mail names Arsenal alongside Tottenham, West Ham and Liverpool in the hunt for the 17-year-old after he caught the eye in recent months.

Ghana-born Azah impressed in pre-season during time with Cardiff City, scoring a brace in an U18 match against West Ham, and is eligible to sign for a club in England after recently earning Irish citizenship.

Capable of playing on either flank or further forward, Azah is regarded as one of the finest prospects within Irish football and a fierce battle for his services looks set to go ahead for a youngster who previously spent time on trial with Manchester United and Everton.
