Arsemal could be set for a busy end to the summer transfer window as reports suggest a defensive shake-up is on the horizon.

The Daily Mail states that Calum Chambers is set for a medical with newly-promoted Fulham and will spend the 2018-19 season on loan in west London, which will be his second spell away from the Gunners.

Chambers spent a campaign with Middlesbrough two years ago and signed a new long-term deal with Arsenal this summer, securing his future at the Emirates Stadium, but his chances of regular action this season look slim.

The Gunners have signed Sokratis Papastathopoulos to bolster their defensive ranks and could venture into the market for another central defender before Thursday evening’s transfer deadline, which would push Chambers further down the pecking order.

Fulham are seeking further experience in defence and 23-year-old Chambers fits the bill to join a side who have already signed Maxime Le Marchand and Alfie Mawson.
