Unai Emery has already overseen numerous pieces of business for Arsenal this summer and his transfer outlay shows no signs of coming to a close.
Widespread reports indicate the Gunners remain interested in Sevilla’s France international Steven N’Zonzi, who has played under Emery’s guidance during the Spaniard’s successful spell in charge in Andalusia.
However Spanish outlet Marca, cited by Sport Witness, indicate that Tottenham are also eyeing a move for the 29-year-old and, perhaps crucially, are able to offer Champions League football to the experienced midfielder.
Formerly of Blackburn and Stoke, N’Zonzi has plenty of experience in the Premier League and is targeted by Arsenal to shore-up a midfield that has struggled for consistency in recent years and has been reduced by the exits of Santi Cazorla and Jack Wilshere.
N’Zonzi has a £35m release clause in his contract with Sevilla and the Spanish side will command that figure if a sale is to be agreed.
