Arsenal look set to face a fight to retain the services of one of their key-players at the Emirates Stadium, as interest in his services rises.
The Gunners are desperately looking to secure 27-year-old Wales international Aaron Ramsey down to a new long-term contract after his current deal entered it’s final 12 months, sparking attention from across Europe.
While it is stated new Arsenal boss Unai Emery is confident Ramsey will agree to fresh terms, The Daily Mail claims Premier League rivals Chelsea are looking to take advantage of the situation by submitting a £30m approach for the midfielder.
Ramsey is ranked amongst the favourites to become the new club captain following the retirement of Per Mertesacker and Laurent Koscielny’s long-term injury absence but the Gunners are concerned about his contract situation after seeing Alexis Sanchez run down his deal last term before signing for Manchester United in January.
Arsenal also endured a similar situation with World Cup winner Mesut Ozil, before the former Real Madrid man extended his contract earlier this year.
